Tarek* (aged 6) joined the Children's Learning Centre Early Childhood Education (ECE) programme when he was 3 years old. During her last parents’ meeting, his mother asked when she could enrol him for the upcoming cycle.

When the field officer explained that Tarek should be enrolled in a public school because he is eligible to start first grade, his mother showed concern, explaining that she really liked the improvement she had seen in her son, both academically and personally (through improved behaviour). She also mentioned that she was very proud that he could read and knew how to identify short and long sounds. She said that he had spent time teaching his family what he had learned in school.

His mother was encouraged to register Tarek at a public school and was informed of the importance of getting the required certificates in order for him to reach higher goals.
