Born from the vision of our founder, Faiza Meyassar Alireza, Al Madad Foundation was established in 2001 as a means of realising her dream of a world where basic education is accessible to all, where young minds are cultivated and where children are given the tools to build positive futures for themselves and those around them.
For over a decade Al Madad Foundation has been working to accomplish just that. We have learned as we have grown and along the way have been fortunate to work with like-minded partners who have helped us to extend our reach and grow our impact. Following a period of review and reflection, Al Madad Foundation has emerged with a renewed purpose and vision that everything we do is in pursuit of two goals: healing the heart and expanding the mind. To underpin this work we have created an efficient and effective infrastructure to streamline operations, measure impact and ensure our supporters are kept fully informed on what they are helping to achieve. This has enabled us to retain what is so special about Al Madad Foundation and position it within an organisation that will remain fit for purpose for years to come.
The Foundation is responsive, dynamic, and flexible. We firmly believe that to be successful we must remain non-political and without religious affiliation, and while we cannot alter the decisions of governments or halt the devastation of war, we can offer children the opportunity to be defined not by their circumstances but by their ambitions. Through healing and education we hope to give them the tools to choose another path- one that will break the cycle of violence and hate and help to change the world for the better.
Our child development programmes provide bespoke art and education initiatives, empowering children to rebuild their own futures and to support their families and, in turn, the wider community.
