Our Teacher Training Programme is carried out in conjunction with our Education Partner, ANA AQRA ASSOCIATION (AAA). AAA aims for teachers to teach independence in learning, this happens through capacity building training sessions for teachers as well as continuous coaching throughout the implementation. This translates to children learning how to learn, thus having a higher chance of continued higher education. AAA follows the balanced literacy approach to teaching reading and writing with a contextualised version of reading and writing workshop of Columbia Teacher’s College.

Ten days of teacher training for 20 teachers, including transportation, teaching material and supplies are provided throughout the year. This qualification grants trainees to teach out of school children Syrian and host community with carefully adapted curriculum implementation to meet their individual needs. The teachers trained are the teachers hired in the CLC, mainly the newly hired teachers, the teachers benefit as well from coaching visits throughout the year.
