Inclusive Futures

A school for refugee and vulnerable Lebanese children aged 3–7 years who are currently excluded from education

“Children not only receive quality education but also obtain the academic and social skills required to transition into formal education classes and pursue their education in mainstream schools as they progress”

Beginning 1 August 2025 (15 months)

AMF is proud to partner with Rahma for Special Needs to deliver this exciting project which aims to register an officially-recognised Lebanese school for children with special needs and mainstream children.

The Inclusive Futures project targets refugee and vulnerable Lebanese children aged 3–7 years who are currently excluded from education. This includes with disabilities (CwDs)—covering physical, cognitive, sensory, and multiple disabilities and classified as “grey zone” children. The latter group consists of children without formal disability diagnoses but who face significant barriers to education due to learning difficulties, behavioral challenges, or previous rejection from mainstream schools. Both groups often have no access to schooling and lack pathways to official certification.

By creating an inclusive learning environment tailored to their needs, this project will enable these children not only to receive quality education but also to obtain the academic and social skills required to transition into formal education classes and pursue their education in mainstream schools as they progress. This approach promotes educational equity, social inclusion, and long-term opportunities for children who have been systematically left behind, while serving as a model for replication across Lebanon.
