Emergency supplies for mothers and babies

In Gaza we supported new mothers who had lost their husbands with essential supplies for wellness and dignity, as well as health visitors to monitor mother and child medical needs and to offer advice.

In the months following the beginning of the project, we saw a dramatic deterioration in the health of our mothers and babies as well as in the living conditions in which they are expected to survive. Our efforts to source supplies from within the Strip became more and more difficult and our health visitors are reported a lack of access to basic disease prevention and medical supplies. First Aid Training

In the Occupied West Bank, blockades, road closures, and limited access to camps have led to the usual medical treatment options becoming increasingly inaccessible. In an effort to better equip local communities AMF partnered with PCCDS and the Palestinian Red Crescent to train civilian first responders and provide them with medical kits to enable minor injuries to be treated on site and life-preserving aid to be administered until professional help could be reached. Glasses and Hearing Aids for Refugee Children

This project received the Zero Project Award 2024 which recognises innovative solutions which remove barriers for persons with disabilities

Our partners, PCCDS, targeted students with hearing and sight difficulties living in refugee camps in the West Bank. The UNRWA Education Department reported that these students had good academic ability in general but were held back by a lack of glasses and hearing aids. The project sought to provide students with glasses and hearing aids thereby contributing to improving the quality of education based on the fourth goal of the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan. Gazan refugee children enrolled in specialist education

AMF partnered with SOS Children’s Villages UK and SOS Children’s Villages Palestine to deliver this exciting project for Palestinian children (ages 3 - 17) residing in SOS Children’s Village Bethlehem. The children hold Palestinian nationality and have refugee or displaced status. The project extended children’s knowledge of core subjects and added to their learning through specialised additional learning.

The project aimed to give children increased confidence for future educational and employment opportunities among displaced Palestinian children through enhanced Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) skills. Read more here.
